Balita.ph - CSC offers development programs for gov’t workers

October 15th, 2007

October 15 2006 - In an effort to develop skills, more productive and better service to the people, the Philippine Civil Service Commission (CSC) offers free development training to government workers, this was learned on Sunday.

The CSC in Northeastern Mindanao is also set to offer programs that will help workers in the government enhance their skills, talents and values and develop productivity to better serve the people.

Northeastern Mindanao Regional Director Adams Torres said the law mandates a continuing development program for all government workers at all levels in the bureaucracy to create an environment conducive
to the development of personnel skills.

The CSC, Torres said, will offer live-out training interventions for all government workers up to the end of this month.

The live-out training includes the Supervisory Development Course (SDC) Module 6 which is recommended to update the supervisor’s knowledge and skills in responding to the supervisory requirements of
the job.

Another is the Values Orientation Workshop (VOW) designed to enhance the participants’ ethical and moral values, imbue right attitude and greater sense of commitment, responsibilities and dedication to public service.

Defensive Driving (DD) is also introduced for government drivers that will introduce ways to improve quality service towards work that would spell success in the field of driving.

Torres said the target participants for SDC are employees currently performing or about to perform supervisory or managerial roles while VOW is intended for middle managers and rank and file employees
coming from Local Government Units (LGUs), including Barangay Officials and Employees, National Government Agencies (NGAs), Government Owned and Controlled Corporations (GOCCs) and State
Colleges and Universities (SUCs).

Defensive driving seminar for government drivers is also designed for all driver-employees in government offices to be more careful and conscious in driving. (PNA)
